Aviation business supporters make this event possible
Organized in 1938 as an informal coalition of aviation businesses, the Washington Aviation Association (WAA) was formalized into a non-profit in 1948 to build a stable and prosperous future for Northwest Aviation. Along with a Aviation Conference and trade show that has been operating for 41 years, the Association supports a low cost Anti-Drug & Alcohol Consortium which allows small and medium sized safety sensitive businesses enroll in a larger pool of members to save on mandatory drug and alcohol requirements.
The efforts of this non-profit would not be possible without the support of our local aviation businesses that see the value in supporting the annual gathering and programs offered by the WAA.
Thank you NW Aviation Conference Supporters

Paine Field Airport | Snohomish County
Seattle Paine Field International Airport (IATA: PAE) is a commercial and general aviation airport in the Seattle area of Washington. It opened in 1939 and was named after Topliff Olin Paine in 1941, shortly before it was used by the military. While it served civilians from 1946 to 1950, it became an air force base during the Korean War. In 1966, Boeing chose Paine Field for its assembly plant for the 747. By the 1970s, it focused on light aviation and manufacturing, and commercial service was blocked until the 1980s due to local opposition. In March 2019, a new terminal opened, allowing commercial flights to resume. The FAA classifies it as a non-hub primary commercial service airport for 2023–2027.

The publication has had several names over the years, including Sell-A-Plane, Northwest Flyer, Western Flyer, The Flyer, General Aviation News & Flyer, and finally General Aviation News. Its main goal has always been to provide timely, factual information about general aviation in an enjoyable way.
The Sclair family became involved in aviation media by purchasing the Northwest Flyer in 1970. As it grew, the name changed to Western Flyer. In 1989, they bought General Aviation News and merged it with the Western Flyer, which was renamed General Aviation News & Flyer, and later changed to General Aviation News.
In addition to the bi-monthly print editions mailed to thousands of individuals, businesses, and airports nationwide, Flyer Media, Inc., the parent company of GANews, also produces Living With Your Plane, a national directory of residential airparks and related information.
